On Home Prices Declining…

Good article from Bill McBride about how the home price index has continued to decline. Depending on where you’re measuring against, home prices may still be up.

New Case-Shiller Data

New Case-Shiller data and that means John Wake has updated his amazing Case-Shiller charts. Here’s a good one showing the home price index and the inflation-adjusted home price index but there are a lot more.

And, he has a super interesting factoid (at the bottom of the page) about how the real monthly payment in Chicago and Cleveland is now cheaper than it was in 1990—even with higher interest rates. Say what?!
