Landlord Challenges

On the Real Estate Financial Planner™ substack I’ve been writing about the challenges I see in our current real estate market for investors. For those considering buying properties, it included:

• High prices

• High mortgage interest rates

• Lagging rents

These have been resulting in less-than-stellar cash flow on leveraged, new purchases.

And, I added in for those with rental properties already that we have:

• More equity

Which means that the return on our equity is lower.

But this article from the Wall Street Journal also reminds me that we have increased expenses of running the business (repairs and maintenance) from inflation too.

Good thing I’ve been writing about how to solve these challenges. :)
